For the past twenty years, Cathy has focused on nature and wildlife photography.

Cathy’s images capture everything from lifestyles of insects to dramatic behavior of large mammals. She has photographed extensively throughout the continental United States, Alaska, the Canadian Arctic, and East Africa.

Cathy is a frequent contributor to Nature Photographer Magazine as well as the photographic journal F/8 and Being There.

In recent years, Cathy won the “Animal Antics” category in the highly coveted Nature’s Best International Photography Awards. She also earned a Highly Honored award in the "Wildlife" Category. Both images were included in exhibits in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C.

Cathy feels to be a strong nature photographer, she also needs to be an informed naturalist. Drawing on that knowledge, Cathy offers complete photo/text packages to magazines. Last year Nature Photographer Magazine ran a feature story on Monarch Butterflies. In addition, Photomigrations.com published her piece on how to photograph Buffalo.

Cathy is an active member of NANPA (North American Nature Photographers Association), to which she has belonged for 11 years.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors at the Ashe County Humane Society and also donates her time and photographic skills for fundraising events at the Society.

Cathy’s fine art can be seen at the River Rock Gallery in West Jefferson, North Carolina.
